CELLS
Cell Organelles : Living material of the cell ie. protoplasm is divided in three parts:
| Nucleus | Control total life activity of cell |
| Cytoplasm | Part of cell outside nucleus; contains other important cell structures |
| Cell membrane | Outer covering of the cell; holds in the cytoplasm but allows dissolved material to enter and leave the cell |
| Cytoplasm contain other cell organelles : |
| Mitochondria | The powerhouse of cell "burns" food to release energy |
| Ribosomes | These are the sites where cell assembles enzymses and all other proteins |
| Endoplasmic Reticulum or ER | The ER transport proteins from the nucleus |
| Golgi bodies | Golgi bodies store and package proteins which the cell export |
| Vacuoles | Clear area within the cytoplasm: contains food or cell wastes for storage or removal |
| Chloroplasts | Green-colored body in the cytoplasm of most plant cells; contains chlorophyll |
| Cell Wall | Structure found outside the membrane of plant cells only; strengthens plant tissue |
